Collector Matthew West has been working with Eric on a project featuring our favorite Man Without Fear. They wanted a way to pay tribute to the work of Gene Colan, as well as stretch Eric as an artist.
Comics is the marriage of words and pictures. While it can be done with big splash pages alone (see the Stan Lee/John Buscema Silver Surfer graphic novel for example) but it’s rarely done that way.
When is art born? It’s almost like asking “what is art?”. Our passion for comics brings two art forms together – writing and drawing. Is one “art” without the other?
It’s just been reported by Clifford Meth that Gene Colan’s wife Adrienne has passed away. I was lucky enough to get to know Adrienne and call her my friend. I’m just kinda shocked right now.
