This year marks Daredevil’s 50th anniversary.  In celebration, I’ve commissioned our very own Richard Cox to create a poster for my collection.  

After going over several different ideas (all of which were fantastic – I wish I had the dough to go ahead with all of them!), we ultimately decided to move forward with an idea that recalls Daredevil’s first cross-over appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #16.

With the circus theme already established with this issue, he very quickly sent me some basic sketches…

I let Richard know which elements were my favorites (the circus poster idea, Ringmaster’s head over the circle, and Daredevil spinning his billy club), he then sent another…

Penciling has begun.  Richard wanted to get the format of the circus poster figured out before adding the figures.  He sent this for approval…

Penciling of the figures has begun.  I asked Richard to make Spider-Man very Ditko-esque…
