Superman Delivers – a work in progress July 7, 2011 – Posted in: Blog – Tags: Mike Pascale, Superman, vlasic pickles, work in progress A Mike Pascale commission from start to finish. These were Mike’s first two layout proposals for the client. The client leaned more towards the one with Superman flying but didn’t want “that pickle bird”. He asked if Mike could add his pet dog instead. Presto-Chango! “Pickle Bird” becomes a cute dog! These were Mike’s final pencils before moving forward with ink and color. I always find it interesting to see the order in which artists chose to work through a piece. Mike finished the figures, and then went to work adding color to the sky, leaving the figures b/w. Had I guessed, I would have thought the figures would have been completed in color, and the background would have been added after…but what do I know? The final product! Keeping the color saturation of the sky background subdued really makes the colors of the figures pop. Very nice! ShareFacebookTwitterRedditTumblrPinterestGoogleEmail Related « How Eric W.
