If you grew up on comics in the early to mid 1980’s then you most likely worship at the alter of Arthur “Art” Adams.  He is one of modern comic’s greatest cover artists.  Here’s a look at his 10 best.  As always, I’ve included the original artwork when I could find it.

#10 - Gumby's Spring Specials - Gumby, Pokey and a T-Rex by Arthur Adams? How could this NOT make this list?

#8 - Marvel Team-Up #141. This cover has lots of appeal. Most obviously it's the first appearance of Spidey's black costume in the MTU book. Then of course there's the bonus of Daredevil and the Black Widow. On top of all that? It's inked by another legend - Mike Mignola. (Yeah, and this is only #8!)

Fantastic Four #1 - Variant. Arthur Adams has done a great many variant covers over the years. The reason is simple - an Arthur Adams cover is always in demand. Want to sell more copies? Get Art to draw the cover. This is likely one of the most commonly "re-used" cover images of all-time. Yet in Adams' capable hands it looks fresh and exciting.

#1 - Heroes for Hope One-Shot. Well here it is folks, the mother of all Arthur Adams covers. For those unfamiliar, this was a one-shot benefit book to help with famine relief in Ethiopia back in 1985. The book is full of equally stunning art from a huge host of greats. It's a gem cover to cover.
